Shelly pahoehoe is &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;one of the most fearsome landforms to &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;walk on. The crust can be so thin you fall&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;through. Sometimes the hole can be many&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;feet deep! Very unnerving. I highly &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;recommend you do not walk on shelly &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;pahoehoe 'cause Shelly don't like people.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

There&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;is some kind of blockage just downstream&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;from the lava flow. The lava is flowing to&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;the left of the photograph. Just a few &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;minutes after this photo was taken the &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;lava started to overflow the rim and move&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;towards me. Luckily the lava was rich in&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;gases and was very frothy so it moved &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;very slowly, but that was enough to make&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;me move from the area. The rootless &lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;shields eventually grew much taller within&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;the coming weeks. The area where I took&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;these shots is now buried under at least&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;font color="#ffcc33"&gt;forty feet of lava!&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
